LIBERTY LINE
This project got its start because of a beautiful lady named Luanne who could no longer drive because she had lost her sight do to diabetes . The Board Director had the privilege of picking her up for church services over the course of a year and began to see how demeaning it was for her to have to always “beg” a ride from someone.
Luanne was one of our founding board members and was very excited to be able to help get a transportation service started in this area. Unfortunately, she passed away only a few weeks into the planning process. Even her death couldn’t stop her from helping us, however. The seed money to get this project started came from her memorial donations.
• Liberty Line is a transportation ministry, started after several of our board members experienced firsthand the frustration felt by friends who had to ask for rides to places they needed or wanted to go. The board is made up of member of Holy Trinity, Lakeview, and Hope, Stanton, Lutheran Churches
• We started taking calls in October 2016 and had 7 runs, there were 28 runs in Nov., 38 runs in Dec, and 45 runs In January (7 were canceled for bad weather) We only serve those within the Lakeview/Central Montcalm School Districts at this time.
• We have only 13 volunteer drivers total, right now, and all but 3 of them are from the Lakeview area. Our clients are split almost equally. We are looking for Christians who would be willing to donate their time to be drivers for Liberty Line. Call the number below if you would like to know more about being a volunteer driver for Liberty Line.
• Our main goal is to allow the Holy Spirit to open opportunities for our Christian drivers, as they form relationships with our clients, to share the Gospel with them.
• We have taken people to cancer treatments, court appointments, grocery shopping, to do laundry, to the dentist and to see an invalid spouse in a nursing home 3 times a week. Some don’t own a car, some can’t afford the gas, some are no longer physically able to drive. We have taken people as far as Grand Rapids and Reed City but also not more than 3 miles down the road.
You can contact Liberty Line at 989-352-0033

The Ladies below are clients who depend on our service along with one of our drivers.
